Thèmes de recherche
Céline Marionneau is an expert in phosphoproteomics and regulation of cardiac ion channels. The research goal developed in her team is to identify the molecular mechanisms mediating the post-translational regulation of cardiac ion channels. More specifically, she aims to identify novel signaling pathways, associated proteins, kinases, and post-translational modification (PTM) sites involved in regulating channel expression and function in health and disease. Her lab uses proteomic analyses of native cardiac ion channels, as well as biochemical and electrophysiological analyses from freshly isolated mouse cardiomyocytes to identify PTM sites and interacting proteins and to determine their roles in channel regulation. Ongoing research demonstrated that cardiac Nav1.5 channels are highly phosphorylated, comprising more than 50 phosphorylation sites, and that the mechanisms mediating phosphorylation-dependent channel regulation are far more complex than anticipated. By characterizing these post-translational regulations, her overall objective is to contribute to a better understanding of arrhythmia mechanisms and potentially to better arrhythmia treatments.
